Preview a master item in the dressing room.
Implementation: Implemented.
Syntax
/try_on <client_token> <item_id> <crc>
/try_on crc <client_token> <item_id> <crc>
/try_on dbid <client_token> <item_id> <client_token> <crc>
Arguments
Position is zero-based in sep, after a registered database subcommand has been removed. Internal action tokens remain at position 0. Angle brackets are required; square brackets are optional. Alternative forms may change field meanings.
| Position | Argument | Accepted value / type | Meaning |
|---|---|---|---|
| 0 | mode_or_token |
text | Versions <1096 use the first form. Versions >=1096 require crc or dbid. |
| 1 | token_or_item |
text or integer | Classic form: master item ID. New form: client token. |
| 2 | item_or_crc |
integer | Classic form: CRC. New form: master item ID. |
| 3 | crc_or_token |
integer or text | crc form: CRC. dbid form: unused client token. |
| 4 | crc |
integer | dbid form: CRC. |
Behavior and restrictions
- A resolved master item is passed to ShowDressingRoom; no equipment is changed. Unrecognized forms or missing item data produce no preview.
Current argument/client/target checks (exact source excerpts; branch-dependent):
if (client->GetVersion() < 1096) {
if (sep->arg[1] && sep->IsNumber(1) && sep->arg[2] && sep->IsNumber(2))
if (sep->IsNumber(2) && sep->IsNumber(3)) {
if (sep->IsNumber(2) && sep->IsNumber(4)) {
Permissions
Local database snapshot, October 6, 2026: /try_on requires status 0 (handler 280). Other worlds may configure different values.
The dispatcher checks the resolved registration status before invoking the handler. In-handler guild, group, ownership, client-version and target checks still apply.
Examples
The syntax forms above are the source-based invocation examples. Replace identifiers with values valid for your world; client callback fields are supplied by the game client.
